If it is a tablet device you are looking for, there is the Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet device that is on offer for just $19 to $29. Similarly, there is the slightly more up-market Kindle Oasis from 2016, again refurbished, that is on sale for $79. ![]() Meanwhile, there is also the 2018 Kindle Paperwhite model, ad-supported and refurbished which is on sale for around $44 to $59. Those again are the last things you should be worried about given how Kindles that are years old continue to function as usual. That way, picking up e-readers even several years old shouldn’t make much of a difference so long as the display and other controls are working fine. Buying a Kindle at cheap prices can also be a nice option for a good second device that you can do some experiment with, more so if you are a DIY guy and are looking to build something new out of it.Īlso, the good thing with e-readers is that they have a fairly simple operating system compared to what you have with smartphones and tablets, which requires updating to the latest version for the most optimum performance as well as app compatibility. Among the highlights of the sale include a 2017 model Amazon Fire tablet for as low as just $14. Here is your chance to pick up a Kindle or a Fire tablet at super affordable prices thanks to a new sale at Woot. ![]() ![]() What pace do I have to run to go sub 5:00 for the marathon? Through all these changes, the best elements of the original XCOM remain, such as the cover system and choice of skills. Turn limits change the pace of combat, new scenarios inject variety, cover can be destroyed, and there is a greater variety of enemies all with improved AI. The changes made by the developer, Firaxis, are subtle but powerful. In mission, the turn-based combat still reigns supreme. Thus, your options in combat are far higher. This impacts both combat and management, because where as previously you only had to manage four unit types and their skills, there are now many more – all of whom must be upgraded, trained, and managed in mission. Soldiers and resource management is also more efficient.Īnother striking change is the variety of soldiers. A tedious aspect of XCOM: Enemy Unknown was managing radars across the world – but this is a problem the Avenger completely removes. One of the bigger changes to the base management in XCOM 2 is that, rather than acting from an underground military facility, you now operate out of a hijacked alien ship known as the Avenger. ![]() As in the first game, there are two distinct elements of play: base management and combat missions. ![]() XCOM: Enemy Unknown offered excellent turn-based gameplay, and XCOM 2 only refines and improves on this while keeping its core essence. Creating a hybrid is nothing difficult – you just have to feed a plort of one kind to a slime of another kind. All because hybrids produce not just one crystal, but two at a time (one of each kind). There is one important feature about slimes in Slime Rancher – you can cross-breed them to get other types of slimes that can send your farming business to unprecedented heights. Maybe it’s time to get a fruit garden or a chicken coop? Grow and cross-breed slimes, but beware of turning them into man eaters! Those are already more profitable in terms of crystal production, but also more capricious in terms of food. So you’d better go out and look a little bit farther to discover more serious candidates – blue and violet slimes. But if you fill your rancho with pink slimes, you might face another problem – they will start running away because they don’t like to live in a crowd. Their plorts are rather cheap, and you really need a lot of them if you count on any kind of a decent budget. Pink slimes are not the best choice to base your enterprise on. Don’t forget to pick up some fruits and vegetables to feed to them – once its stomach is full, a slime will produce a plort (looking like a crystal of a respective color) that can be sold for profit. They are not very picky and you won’t have a lot of trouble with them. So far, you will only have access to pink ones. ![]() Your very first task is to gather a batch of slimes that will become the first dwellers on your farm. ![]() The neighborhood is filled with various resources, including fruits and vegetables, chickens and of course slimes. Your joypad not only rumbles with each fender-bending impact, it also vibrates when you take tight turns. And while you may not get the force-feedback steering wheel of the coin-op, SF Rush is Rumble Pak-compatible. With this mode activated, all autos that crash and burn during a race will stay wrecked, forcing you to dodge their flaming husks each time you round the course. Other console-exclusive features include a new view of the action, split-screen for two players and the optional Death Mode. The game packs six tracks in all, three of which aren't from the arcade version. They all follow the same physics models used in the late-'8os arcade classic Hard Drivin', except now you can power-slide by using the handbrake or dropping into reverse (don't try that at home). San Francisco's a foggy place as most N64 owners will agree, if there's one thing their system can do well, it's fog. First, the N64's SGI-supercharged graphics engine can mimic most of the effects pumped out by the coin-op's 3Dfx-based hardware. It makes sense to port the arcade hit San Francisco Rush to the Nintendo 64 for two reasons. ![]() ![]() ![]() Stand against the horrors of the Blair Witch and the decaying sanity of a man burdened by his past.Īs you delve deeper into the woods, how you react to danger and behave under pressure will ultimately teach you more about yourself. My takeaways from this little experiment. A lot of these were the blues and trout that I never hooked up on, but some of it was also bottom fish like croaker and the occasional pigfish, spot, and black drum, most of which were very small. Then, during some of my slow time where I wasn't doing much, other people were catching fish. during times were no one else seemed to be catching much, I was still catching fish. ![]() Every fish I caught was on the bottom hook. One setup had bloodworm on bottom, then shrimp on top hook, the other setup was vice-versa. I was using two setups, both with two-hook bottom rigs. I caught 6 of the 8 keeper croakers on the green/red bloodworm, and 2 of the keeper croakers and the 2 throwback flounder on orange shrimp. However, I was the only person that caught any flounder, and by far, the most keeper sized croakers (ranging from 3/4 lb to 1 1/2 lb).
